Watched the Olympics opening ceremony last night - I've never watched one before, but being British I figured I probably should. :) Anyway, I may be biased but I really enjoyed it. The bit with the Queen and James Bond was really fun and I never knew the guy who invented the World Wide Web was a Brit - good for him! And I loved what they did with the flame - the many trumpet-things coming together to form one huge torch.

I can still remember how excited everyone was seven years ago when we found out we were getting the Olympics, even if the news did come the day before a terrorist attack. Only city in the world to host the Olympics three times, I think that's pretty cool. (But then I don't actually live in London, so I don't have to deal with the downsides.) Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

On a totally different note, I'm currently working on a K/S genderswap AU and I wondered if anyone would be willing to look it over when it's finished? It's my version of how "Turnabout Intruder" would have gone if Kirk and Spock were both women. (I'm currently at the "You know his her thoughts" part and having lots of fun.) Thanks!

ah, that was just before i moved to London, i remember! and i don't have to deal with olympic stress now as i work abroad during the summer. so... problem solved! ;) i haven't seen the opening ceremony though, i hope it's available on iplayer? then i should be able to do some fancy trick to get iplayer out here in Korea and i'll be good to go, hehe. XD

and i would offer to beta, but i'm not great at that at all. i can just have a read over it for thoughts though! :D

The opening ceremony is definitely available on iplayer - all nearly-four-hours of it. :) Most of that's introducing all the various countries, though.

And while beta-ing would be great, right now it's enough to know that there are people who would be interested in reading it. (I'm having enough fun with it that I don't care if I don't get loads of comments, but I'd prefer not to be greeted with silence, y'know?)

Thanks. :) I love genderswap fic (of the always-female type), but I can't read most of it because most people only swap one of them and K/S het is really not my thing. K/S femslash, on the other hand...
