LOL, oh yeah, British special effects. Like in Blake's 7... they were supposedly on some alien planet and went up to a building that looked like it was built in WWII. "How futuristic!" exclaimed my husband.
In the early days, everyone got "mentored" in by experienced fans and I wish it was still like that. you can't expect newbies to know all the unwritten so-called "rules" if nobody fills them in on how things work in fandom, so they shouldn't complain about them. I'm delighted there are new fans who are still interested in the old shows. (I also do Starsky & Hutch, and a lot of the younger fans can't stand their late 70s clothes and hair-styles, so they miss out on a great series with really wonderfully slashy characters.) If you're interested in finding any old zines or vids or info or connecting with anyone, feel free to PM me. Wish you could come to a con here -- there's always a K/S party at Shoreleave here in Baltimore. It's every July. You'd really enjoy it.
