Yeah, you can definitely make a decent case for Spock being gay.
One of the other things that hit me about this fic was that of all the comments I got, not one of them was like, "Well, I don't really see Spock as gay, but...." They all seemed to find it totally believable.
And yeah, most of them were Kirk/Spock shippers (and/or lgbtfest readers) and so primed to accept something like that, but I also got a couple of comments from people who didn't/don't ship it, and even one from someone who said they didn't usually read slash of any kind, and even they seemed to find it believable. (I mean, it's entirely possible that the people who didn't find it believable just didn't comment, but it's still interesting.) I can't imagine that happening if I'd written Kirk or McCoy as gay.
And that's cute about your sister. Does she ship K/S?
