Chip's Challenge (Chip, Chip&Melinda)

I've loved this game for pretty much as long as I can remember. The in-game story is pretty slim - Chip wants to join Melinda's club, the Bit Busters, but has to prove his worth by making his way through the levels of her laboratory, avoiding monsters, killer floors, and the threat of being crushed by giant blocks. You can download the game here, or buy it on Steam (albeit as a slightly different version) if you're interested in giving it a try.

Prompts:

• Chip's thoughts/experiences as he goes through the game - what's his reaction to the monsters and other things he encounters? How does he experience the game mechanics - what happens when he "dies", for example? Does it bother him having to carry around keys and computer chips that are as big as he is? What about repeating a level over and over - does it feel like some kind of time loop to him?


• Melinda's thoughts as she monitors Chip's progress - does she make everyone who joins her club go through this madness? And why? Is it some kind of experiment?


• Chip finds out he's not the first person to go through the maze and compares notes/commiserates with previous victims. (Or offers advice to future ones.)


• Chip confronts Melinda about everything she's put him through.

Fandom specific notes: While this is obviously a game in our world, I'd prefer it to be real to the characters - i.e. Chip is physically going through the maze and interacting with the objects and creatures within.

Friends (Emily)

I've loved Friends since I was a kid, but the way Emily was treated by the narrative has always left a bad taste in my mouth. They built up this sweet, genuine relationship between her and Ross leading up to the big London wedding episode, and then completely demonised and derailed her character so that they could write her out for more Ross/Rachel will-they-won't-they. (Seriously, Ross screws up the wedding and embarrasses her in front of everyone and she's the bad guy?) So I'd love a fic from her perspective that treats her more sympathetically.

Prompts:

• The wedding goes as planned and she and Ross actually end up happy together.


• Emily tries to pull her life back together after everything that happens with the help of her friends/family.


• Emily's friends/family convince her she's better off without Ross.


• Something dealing with the fact that Emily's uncle is Rachel's boss. The show never mentions it, but surely that had to cause some awkwardness?


• Emily finds out she's pregnant and has to figure out what to do. Does she patch things up with Ross? Do they have an awkward co-parenting arrangement like Ross and Carol? Does she decide to go it alone and be a single mother?


• Or, if you want to go totally AU, femslash where it's Rachel who accompanies her to the opera like she was meant to (and still ends up in a bed and breakfast in Vermont?).

Fandom specific notes: Gen is great, but if you want to write a pairing/shipfic I'm happy with any of Ross/Emily, Emily/any female character, or Emily/OFC. Also, as a Brit, if you have Emily move to New York I'd love anything exploring her culture shock/adjustment and/or the differences between the US and the UK.

The Simpsons (Lisa/Juliet)

Juliet only appears in one episode (Lisa the Drama Queen), but I loved the relationship between her and Lisa. They seemed to connect so well, in a way that's pretty rare for Lisa, and I like how smart and imaginative they both are. I'd love to see more of that relationship, especially if it involves them meeting again in the future.

Prompts:

• Lisa ends up going to the same high school/college as Juliet and they reconnect.


• The last person Lisa expected to see at summer camp was Juliet.


• Moments of fun and imagination between them before everything went wrong.


• Lisa begins writing letters back and forth with another girl, bonding and slowly falling in love, without realising (until they meet?) that the girl is Juliet.


• They come out to their families. Lisa's are supportive (in their own way), but Juliet's are less so.


• Lisa asks Aunt Patty for advice on dating a girl.


• AU - What if their attempt at running away together had been (more) successful? Where do they go? What do they do?


• AU - Getting their book published leads to reconciliation.


• AU - They meet for the first time at summer camp / in high school / in college (and things go a lot better than in canon).


• AU - They get transported to Equalia for real, Narnia-style, and have to survive there and find a way back.


• Fantasy AU - What if they really were fellow princesses in Equalia. Are they arranged to be married to each other? Do they go on a quest? Do they have to work together to save the kingdom from some kind of threat or villain? Feel free to map stuff from the "real" Springfield-based world onto the fantasy one.

St Clare's Series (Alison/OFC)

Okay, so I reread these books a while back, and my main takeaway was that Alison is totally a lesbian. I don't know what Enid Blyton was going for, but her obsessions with other girls/female teachers did not strike me as 100% platonic and heterosexual. So I'd love to see a fic where she realises this, preferably by finding a nice girl/woman who appreciates her interest in fashion and doesn't think of her as an airhead.

Prompts:

• Alison meets a very interesting woman at her new job.


• Alison realises her previous obsessions were actually crushes and has to come to terms with it.


• The twins visit Alison and her "friend" and come to a realisation.


• Domestic fluff.


• Alison makes a career in fashion, OFC helps/supports her.


• A new girl arrives at St Clare's, leading to revelations.


• Alison starts up a penpal relationship and finds herself falling in love.


• Letters between Alison and her love interest.


• One (or more!) of the teachers are lesbians too and they offer Alison some advice.

Fandom specific notes: References to canon-era homophobia are fine (e.g. having to be careful in public, pretending to be friends who live together rather than a couple), but I'd prefer they not be the focus. I'd also prefer Alison and her love interest to be roughly the same age, but unrequited Alison->teacher on the way to Alison/OFC is fine.

Star Trek Discovery (Pike/Ash, Pike&Ash)
Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Canon-Style Plot - Freeform, Character Development, Established Relationship, Fix-it fic, Fluff, Getting Together, Hurt/Comfort, Science Fiction, Slice of Life, Worldbuilding

I really like these characters and their relationship, and always want more fic for them. I love how Pike is such a genuinely good person, and how Ash is clearly damaged but still trying to do the right thing, even if he isn't always sure what that is. I also really love how the catalyst for them going from disliking and distrusting each other to basically friends is fighting a robotic squid from the future, and the potential bond formed by them being two of the only people left behind at the end. Anything along the friendship-preslash-first time-established relationship scale would be great, and I'd especially love something set after Season 2 with Pike back on the Enterprise and Ash working on rebuilding Section 31, but really almost anything about them would make me happy.

• Not all of the meetings between the head of Section 31 and the captain of the Enterprise are purely professional.


• Meeting up for a drink on the anniversary of Discovery's "destruction".

• AU - Ash brings Voq and L'Rell's son with him to Discovery instead of leaving him on Boreth. Turns out Pike is good with kids, even Klingon ones.


• Ash uses his Section 31 powers to heal Pike after his accident. (I'm more than fine with him still being injured or disabled in some ways, just as long as he can move and communicate and have a relatively normal life.)


• Ash teams up with Una/Boyce/various SNW characters to rescue Pike from Talos and help him recover.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds (Pike&Una)

I really like their friendship in canon, how much they trust each other, and I love the idea of them having a really close, supportive, but totally platonic relationship. (Totally fine with it being way more intense than a "normal" friendship, though! Or with other characters speculating they're together and being wrong.) I'd love to see them working together and being a badass captain/first officer team. I also really love all of the characters in this series (they were the best part for me) so if you want to include any of them, please feel free! Background Una&La'an (or even Una/La'an) would be especially great (the scenes of them playing Enterprise Bingo were some of my favourites).

• Pike finds a way to save Una from the charges against her.


• They get transported to an alternate universe and have to get home again. (Possibly by travelling through other alternate universes.)


• Any kind of worldbuilding about Illyrian society/Una's background/etc.


• On that note, it occurs to me that a) Pike is fated to be injured in a way that Federation medicine/technology (supposedly) can't fix, and b) Una comes from a culture that's outcast for using decidedly un-Federation medicine/technology, and I feel that these two facts are kind of begging to be combined. (Would especially love if Spock taking him to Talos was one step in a bigger plan rather than a supposed happy ending.)

I really like this video, and if it was a full-length film I would see it in a heartbeat. I love how it starts out with the brother and sister pining after their het crushes and ends with them realising they'd rather have each other's crushes instead. If you want to try and write the full-length version of this I would be thrilled, but even snippets would be great.

I really loved this film. Auggie is sweet and funny, and I like how his condition doesn't define him - that it makes his life harder but he still gets to be a normal kid who has friends and loves science and is just like everyone else. I'd love anything exploring his life after the end of the film, especially his friendships with Jack Will, or Summer, or his relationship with his sister.

Prompts:

• How does sixth grade work out for Auggie?


• Does his family ever get another dog? Or a different pet?


• Do he and Jack create another kick-ass science fair project? And if so, what?


• What does he dress up as for next Halloween?


• Does he go on any other school trips? Or trips away with his family?

Fandom specific notes: I love gen, but I'm okay with Auggie/Jack or Auggie/OMC as long as it's kept very g-rated - he is only eleven, after all. Background Via/Miranda is also fine.
