I posted a prompt for a similar plot on one of the kink memes, so I was really pleased when I saw this on the kirkspock comm. I was even more pleased at how beautifully it was done - with all the romance and familiarity of the old Kirk and Spock, and the excitement and uncertainty of the reboot pair. And I enjoyed the odd sort-of-avuncular interactions between the Kirks and the Spocks at least as much as I enjoyed the K/S.

Also, this line: And, he thinks, he’ll take reality with Spock, as hard and painful as it is, over paradise without him - just about killed me; it captures so much of the essence of movie-era Kirk. Brilliantly done! :)
