I love the way you've tied Tarsus IV in, especially oblique and wonderful. I have to admit, I found the attack on Spock' a little bit ... hmm, I'm not sure, rushed perhaps? But the awakening scene and the dialogue with McCoy more than made up for it.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this is going :)
